Hello
My name is Sheenagh Unwin and I am the Events Co-Ordinator for Friends of Hollinswood & Randlay Valley.
You can visit the Valley from a range of directions, it is free and there is ample car parking in and around the area.
As well as having this amazing space, on the doorstep of Telford Town Park, where you can wander and enjoy the surroundings, we also arrange free to attend events throughout the year.
Please look out for information and posters, and please do come along and join us.

On Saturday 27th September, Friends of Hollinswood & Randlay Valley invited guests to share in a special event within Randlay Valley. The Chairman, Councillor Harvey Unwin, welcomed the Chairman of Hollinswood & Randlay Valley (Councillor Sheenagh Unwin) and the Deputy Mayor of Telford & Wrekin Council (Councillor Nathalie Page) to unveil a bench and slate plaque in memory of Chris Turley, who sadly passed away last year.
The Friends of Hollinswood & Randlay Valley, with Hollinswood & Randlay Parish Council were proud to celebrate the wonderful achievements of Chris, and his dear wife Judith, over many years and particularly for his work as Chairman of the Friends Group.
Severn Gorge Countryside Trust kindly donated the tree, and Richard Hunt (a member of the Friends Group) had created an amazing bench which is now sited in a favourite location of the Turley Family, alongside an engraved slate and close to the location of a Redwood Tree, planted as a legacy to honour his memory for hundreds of years to come.
This photograph shows the Chairman and Deputy Mayor, with members of Chris’s family and members of the Friends of Hollinswood & Randlay Valley. The Chairman of the Parish Council is presenting a printed copy of the new Randlay Valley map, which shows the location of Chris’s Bench and slate, on a recently created trail path – Chris Turley’s Trail.
The second photograph shows the Redwood Tree, and plaque. We hope you will take time to visit the area.

Tomorrow, 27th September 2025, will bring together the Mayor, MP, Local Councillors, Colleagues, Friends and Family to commemorate Councillor Chris Turley who sadly passed away earlier this year.
As many of you will know, Chris was Chairman of Friends of Hollinswood & Randlay Valley, for many years and was the leader of a group of volunteers who, together with partners, made a great difference within Randlay Valley. Many of the recent improvements have been possible due to Chris’s dedication.
If you would like to come along, you will be very welcome at 11.45am – the event will commence at 12 noon.
We have planted a Redwood Tree, sited a unique bench with a slate stone memorial plaque and created and named a new trail route through the Valley – identified on the new ‘you are here’ maps to be located within the Valley, in his memory.
